EMOLBIITY SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY: A Chance for High-Performance Plastics
Manufacturing precision plastic components for the automotive industry is a challenge and likely one of the most demanding fields for any injection moulder. But especially plastic commodities gain importance during today’s mobility transition. Up to 400 kg of plastics, divided into more than 100 different material grades, are built into every single new electric vehicle.
No cable without connectors, no conductor without isolation: The range of application for our plastic technology in EVs is wide and includes coil forms for electric engines, isolators for high-voltage applications within the power-train, housings for energy management systems as well as charging connectors.
But during the last couple of years, the requirements for moulded connectors were increasing rapidly. This is hardly surprising, since ever-increasing voltages need to be transmitted through more delicate and compact plug-in contacts. But Amper-Plastik has risen to the challenge and acquired extensive knowhow regarding materials, tooling, and production technology.
